Andrew J. McCarthy, 78, former resident of this city, died Thursday afternoon at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Los Angeles, Calif. While in Crawfordsville, Mr. McCarthy was associated with the W. C. Murphy men’s clothing store. His parents, both of whom are dead, were John and Mary McCarthy. The survivors are a daughter, May Jean Hider; a granddaughter, Linda Smith, and a great-granddaughter, Diane Smith, all of Indianapolis. Burial will be in the Soldiers Cemetery in West Los Angeles. – jlr
